Women in Research Council host Dr. Wendy Craig for a Fireside Chat – January 19

É«¶à¶à’s Women in Research Council (WIRC) is excited to host Dr. Wendy Craig from Queen’s University as part of the Fireside Chat series on Friday, January 19 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Dixon/Alger Fireside Reading Room in the North Oshawa Library. The Fireside Chat series invites women from across academia to share their stories about their trajectories, challenges, triumphs, and lessons learned as a woman in academia. The talk with be moderated by the WIRC chair and audience members will be invited to engage in a Q&A following the talk. 

Dr. Craig is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Queen's. She is a leading international scientist and expert on bullying prevention and the promotion of healthy relationships.  As co-founder and Scientific Co-Director of the Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network, she has transformed the study of bullying and healthy relationships into evidence-based practice, intervention, and policy. In recognition of her work, she has won numerous awards such as the Canadian Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Contributions to Community Service, the Queen’s Excellence in Research Prize, and the Order of Ontario. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and was recently awarded the Order of Canada for her work on bullying, victimization, and knowledge mobilization.
