É«¶à¶à GoodMaps Explore

GoodMaps Explore embodies our ‘tech with a conscience’ priority: an ethical approach to technology. The fully accessible navigation app provides an inclusive experience for all individuals on our campus, including those who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, or mobility-impaired. It offers detailed, accurate indoor navigation assistance, complementing our existing indoor mapping solution. It provides directions using haptics, visuals, and textual prompts.

Mapped campus buildings

During the initial software pilot, GoodMaps Explore will feature several on-campus buildings, including the Campus Library, Business and Information Technology Building, Energy Research Centre, and Science Building. When assisting a visitor who is blind/has low vision or is deaf/hard of hearing, please let them know that they can explore these buildings using GoodMaps Explore. They may not be aware of the service and may need help downloading the app. The university plans to add more buildings to the app over time.
